​MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (MIA) BEAGLE BRIGADE KENNEL DESIGN CONCEPT The Beagle Brigade Kennel Facility at Miami International Airport is a purpose built 5,500-square-foot structure designed to support the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s canine inspection program. The facility provides safe, comfortable housing and operational support for the USDA Beagle Brigade, which plays a critical role in safeguarding U.S. agriculture by detecting prohibited food and plant items in passenger baggage. The kennel includes: 18 individual runs designed for optimal canine housing, comfort, and sanitation. A dedicated training room to support ongoing canine skill development and handler instruction. Locker room facilities for staff use. An office and work area for administrative and program operations. A kitchenette to support staff needs during duty hours. A grooming and examination area for routine health checks, hygiene, and veterinary support. The facility is strategically located to serve Miami International Airport, one of the nation’s busiest international entry points, ensuring rapid deployment of inspection teams and maintaining the health, safety, and readiness of the Beagle Brigade.
